Political Links of the Week-23.2.08

So interning on Capitol Hill has its advantages including access to a variety of news sources. In the spirit of sharing the wealth below are my political links of the week:

Can Barack Obama be Stopped?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23258192/ I decided to post this article because it sites that Obama’s 17 point victory in Wisconsin was his worst showing since Super Tuesday in terms of margin of victory.

Obama’s Secret: The Son Bill and Hillary Never Had
http://www.theglobalist.com/DBWeb/StoryId.aspx?StoryId=6096
I personally love the globalist because they have great and unique articles that are not five pages long. This article discusses how Obama contains the best of Bill and Hillary in one package.

Rove on Obama
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120355939956381797.html?mod=opinion_main_commentaries
It wasn’t until I finished this op-ed that I realized that Karl Rove wrote it. I don’t agree with a lot of what it says here but it is interesting to say what the former King of Campaigns, well at least on the GOP side, had to say.

Media Start Falling Out of Love With Obama
http://bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601039&refer=columnist_carlson&sid=a58EAq_aGD.Q
The author supports her claim well but I also feel that the media was pressurized to be more critical of Obama.

Personality Breakdown of the Candidates
http://www.slate.com/id/2184696
Ok this was one of my favorite articles to read this year. The article made me want to go dig in boxes at my parent’s house and find my Myers-Briggs analysis. Learn more about what personallity types tend to be the POTUS (President of the United States).

Public Health in Iraq
http://www.theglobalist.com/DBWeb/StoryId.aspx?StoryId=6689
This article isn’t quite political but it is. The statistics about the well being of Iraqis have gotten worse since the occupation so ok I can concede and say that the surge is working but Iraqis are not better off health wise than before we invaded.

Delegates of Steel
http://www.brookings.edu/opinions/2008/0215_elections_mann.aspx?emc=lm&m=212751&l=44&v=738384
This was the best article about Super Delegates that I have seen since this group became a huge issue to be discussed in the Media.

Super Tuesday, Super Flop
http://www.brookings.edu/opinions/2008/0211_elections_mcdonald.aspx?emc=lm&m=212751&l=51&v=738384
All Things Barack in Espanol
http://www.barackobama.com/espanol/tv/
This is just one of the Spanish Links I have gotten in the past few weeks.

I Refuse to Buy into the Obama Hype (now a supporter) http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/20/201332/807/36/458633
I liked this article because it shows why this person supports based on BHO’s and HRC’s congressional records, mainly from the 110th Congress. Check out their records yourself at www.thomas.gov.

Cindy McCain
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/21/AR2008022102983.html?wpisrc=newsletter&wpisrc=newsletter&wpisrc=newsletter&sid=ST2008022200029
Throughout this primary season I have been very impressed by Cindy McCain’s fashion sense or the fact that she is a politician’s wife with style, a rarity. This article talks more about Cindy and why she is the way she is.

If Obama went 0-10
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/21/AR2008022102159.html?nav=most_emailed_emailafriend
Basically this article states what most people, well at least Democrats, are thinking in their heads.

Just to shake things up a bit I want to throw in the following link that discusses the NBA’s trading policy: NBA Trading: http://www.slate.com/id/2184813. All I can say is VanHorn got a great deal…do you think he would pay off my student loans?😉

Till Next Time…
